Still searching for that perfect work at home job!

Hey everyone! I know I said that I would be posting some legit work at home jobs that show some promise. Okay lately I have been working my 11pm-7am shift and then homeschooling my daughter during the day. This has been so exhausting!  I have also been checking out some of my favorite sites for finding work at home job leads.
These are:
http://www.ratracerebellion.com/
http://www.wahm.com/
http://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=work+at+home&l=
There are also many other blogs and other websites that will list many promising work at home opportunities.
I think the first thing we should think about before searching for a work at home job is..."What do we actually want to do?" I mean do we want to write, answer phones, call people, or  clerical work like inputting data?" I know that writing was a lot of fun because my daughter could be screaming in the back round and it was okay!lol Well I will keep you up to date and let you know what else I find. So far I could tell you that in the past I  have worked from home as a free-lance writer for Demand Media Studios http://create.demandstudios.com/
and also as an appointment setter for various insurance companies.
Whatever we may do...as long as we try our best, it benefits our families , and the job works with our schedules...I believe it may be a good match!

Kids will have fun baking with this egg-free dough!

Perfect Egg-free recipe for an OCD mommy!

Yay can you say Salmonella -free dough! Dough you can let your kids play with without worrying that they are touching and spreading raw egg bacteria!
They will have a ball rolling this yummy sweet easy-peesie dough and cutting out different & fun shapes!

Ingredients you'll need:

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 pound softened room temperature unsalted butter
1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In the bowl mix together the butter and 1 cup of sugar until they well combined, then add the 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
In a medium bowl sift together the flour and the salt.
Next add the sifted flour and salt to the butter-and-sugar mixture. Mix on low speed or kneed until you create a nice dough.
Dust a clean and dry surface with flour and dump the dough out onto the surface. shape the dough into a flat circle and the wrap it in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
After the dough has been chilled remove the plastic wrap and place on a flour dusted clean surface. Next let your kids have a BALL using a rolling pin to roll the dough to about 1/2-inch thick. Allow them to cut out fun shapes with cookies cutters. ( You can even cut out card board shapes and then use a plastic knife to carve around the shapes if you do not have cookie cutters.)
Place the cookies on an un-greased baking sheet and for a nice golden color and a little more sweetness you can sprinkle the tops with sugar. Bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until a light golden brown. Then when done allow cookies to cool at room temperature for about 2- 5 minutes. Then let kids have fun decorating cookies with sprinkles and icings! Try a little fresh squeezed lemon juice in powdered sugar to form an icing consistency and an instant fresh and yummy icing. Drizzle on top of these shortbread cookies for a fantastic breakfast cookie!

Feline Hypothyroidism can create issues with weight and laziness for our
 cats.
Hypothyroidism is a disorder of the thyroid gland which is a small gland in the neck. Its primary function is to regulate the body's metabolism. Just as humans may be diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, our furry little pets can also suffer from this thyroid disorder known as Feline Hypothyroidism. A cat’s thyroid is a gland with two butterfly shaped lobes located in the neck. Feline hypothyroidism occurs when this gland produces an insufficient supply of hormones. When cats have Hypothyroidism their under active thyroid gland causes their body's metabolism to decrease. The body's metabolism is very important and when it is thrown off balance many unwanted symptoms can arise. The most common symptoms of Feline Hypothyroidism is excessive weight gain, hence the hefty feline. With all joking aside this is not a funny matter at all. When cats are obese it can effect their health drastically. Many people may think that a fat cat is a happy cat or a cute cat, but in the contrary these over-weight cats may be in pain and not happy at all.

Fat cats are cute...but are they happy?

Symptoms of Feline Hypothyroidism

Feline Hypothyroidism impacts many parts of the body including the heart and kidneys. Along with the weight gain cats with Hypothyroidism may also display mild to severe symptoms of
Loss of appetite
Constipation
Lethargy which is severe tiredness and laziness.
Lack of interest in play.
Decrease in mental sharpness.
Changes in hair becoming poor, damaged and dried out.
Hypothermia which is a below normal body temperature.
Bradycardia which is a slow heartbeat.

Diagnosis

In order to diagnose Feline Hypothyroidism the cat must be taken to the veterinarian. The vet will feel the cats neck to see if their thyroid gland is swollen or their is a mass. Then the vet test the cats urine, blood count, and test the cats levels of their thyroid hormones T3 Triiodothyonine and T4 Levothyroxine to see if they are low.

Treatment

Cats' Feline Hypothyroidism can be helped with a therapy of hormone replacement of Levothyroxine Thyroxine T4 and their are many natural remedies out in the market today that you may speak with your veterinarian about. He or she can help you choose the best treatment for your cat and help them maintain a healthy thyroid. One product that you can research is Thyro-Pet. Good luck and go help your hefty feline!

"Female Urination Device Eases Public Bathroom Phobias"

Public restrooms can be scary for people who suffer from OCD and germ-contamination phobias.
Public restrooms can be scary for people who suffer from OCD and germ-contamination phobias.

Public bathrooms can be infested with germs and often they are a main trigger for people who suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and the panic attacks associated with germ contamination issues.
I dread the thought of having to use a public facility because in my bathroom I feel in control because I do all the cleaning and disinfecting but in a public restroom I feel helpless not knowing who used it last. Woman's bathrooms can be especially filthy which is sad to say. I would not eat or drink anything while out and about because of this fear of having to relieve myself among the germs of strangers. It has been a true blessing to be a WAHM! I have worked from home for many places as these jobs offer a fantastic opportunity for people who suffer from OCD, because they do not have to worry about issues such a public restroom fears. My biggest fear of going back to work in a physical workplace is having to use a public bathroom and working from home provides the luxury of running down the hall to my bathroom stocked full of my disinfectants and a familiar seat to sit upon.I even took drastic measures to avoid public restrooms by ordering a Female Urination device called the "GO-Girl" in case I had to desperately relieve myself. If you have never heard of this device here is a link to what it is GO Girl. It is a handy little device that allows woman to urinate standing up like men. This device helps decrease my stress levels by allowing me to feel at ease knowing I am prepared to go in case I ever had to go in some place like a dirty gas station rest stop. I always try to take a step back, breath, and reason with myself. I mean what are the odds of picking up harmful germs from a bathroom? I used so many public bathrooms as a child and most of the population does with no worries. If having a female urination device on hand for emergency helps ease my mind then I say why not carry one. I hope this article helps those other people who may suffer from public bathroom phobias!

Help Protect Against Kissing Bugs with this Homemade Non-Toxic Insect Repellent

Research has found the Essential oil of Lemon Eucalyptus to be a safer alternative to DEET in repelling insects and bugs.
Research has found the Essential oil of Lemon Eucalyptus to be a safer alternative to DEET in repelling insects and bugs.
There has been a new epidemic of the dangerous bugs known as kissing bugs migrating from warmer climates in Central and South America to the U.S. states. Kissing bugs are not as sweet as they sound. These bugs get their name because they are known to come out during the night and feed on their victims blood near their mouth while they are asleep. They bite their victims near the mouth because they are attracted to the exhaled carbon dioxide and the heat emitting from the body. These sneaky bugs are blood suckers just like ticks, but instead of passing on Lyme disease they can infect their victims with the parasite that causes Chagas disease. Chagas disease has a very long incubation period and has many similarities to the AIDS/HIV virus. It has been coined as the new "AIDS/HIV of the Americas". The disease can cause major organs of the body like the heart, lungs, or spleen to become enlarged which can be very dangerous. Symptoms can range from fever, headache, rash, fatigue, aches, vomiting, and diarrhea. These symptoms can be mistaken for the flu. The most recognized symptom is swelling of one eyelid. This marking has been named RomaƱa's sign. It is important to try and protect you and your family against these dangerous bugs. There are many bug repellents out on the market but unfortunately many of them contain toxic chemicals such as DEET. Here is a non-toxic bug repellent you can easily make at home.

Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent

Ingredients you wiil need:
1 bottle of Organic Essential oil of Lemon Eucalyptus
1 bottle of Organic Sunflower oil
1 Cobalt blue or Amber glass bottle with spraytop

Instructions

  • Fill glass bottle with the organic sunflower oil. This is the carrier oil which dilutes the essential oil so that it is non-irritating to the skin.
  • Then add 10-25 drops of Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil depending on the size of your bottle. For example, use 10 drops for every 8oz of sunflower carrier oil. If you choose to make a larger batch than more drops may be added. Ideally you want 1 part Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil for every 10 parts sunflower oil.
  • Close bottle tightly and shake well to blend oils.
  • The repellent can now be sprayed on clothing and skin to repel insects.
  • Be sure to store the bottle in a cool and dark place because sunlight can denature the beneficial properties of the oils.
  • Also it is important to use only under adult supervision and keep out of children's reach. Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil is a strong menthol like oil that could cause irritation and a burning sensation if it comes into contact with eyes.
Disclaimer: I recommend that you test on a small patch of skin first to ensure that you do not have any adverse reactions. The information provided is intended to serve as a useful and healthier alternative to toxic insect repellents that you can make easily from home. Ensure Your Baby's Bottles and Baths are Toxin-Free

"We Want our babies to bathe in healthy non-toxic ingredients not yucky chemicals!"

Many baby bottles, shampoos, and washes contain toxins!

"We Want our babies to bathe in healthy non-toxic ingredients not yucky chemicals!"
If you have a baby it is important to research what your baby's bottles are made from because many baby bottles still contain the chemical BPA Bisphenol A - a chemical which may be linked to heart disease and diabetes in humans as well as hormonal disruptions! We have had great success using Even-Flo's glass baby bottles which are made of a strong high-quality glass.
They have been through many falls and endured countless boiling routines without experiencing any chips or brakes! Avoid BPA whenever possible! Most likely the hard clear plastics in your home may contain BPA, Here is a list of common items found in a home which could be sources of toxic BPA.

"Every baby deserves a non-toxic bottle to drink!"
"Every baby deserves a non-toxic bottle to drink!"
  • Children's toys etc..
  • Plastic Liners for tin Cans
  • Teething toys
  • Eye Glasses
  • Microwave ovenware and utensils
  • Plastic containers that contain the #3, #6, & #7 recycling Symbol.
Types of plastics that may contain BPA:
  • Polycarbonate
  • Lexan
  • PolySulfone
These plastics release the most BPA especially when heated, so it is important to keep those plastic bottles out of the microwave! Also avoid reusing Plastic water bottles because there has been research that help discover that the enzymes in our own saliva can actually start to break down the chemicals in the plastic. Stay away from baby products with harmful unnecessary chemical additives. The latest news is that all our most popular brand named baby products have been revealed as containing many toxic carcinogenic ingredients. For example a Tear-Free baby shampoo is actually tear-free because they add a chemical that numbs the baby's eyes! It doesn't mean that it is safer and "more gentle" at all! it just contains chemicals that are actually more toxic. So try to find baby and all family personal care products with LESS INGREDIENTS! Because in this case "Less is definitely more!" Also try to stay away from harsh Laundry detergents. The clothes that we wash with detergents are lying directly on our baby's skin and they say that our skin is our largest organ in the body that absorbs everything. So we should be washing children's clothing and bedding with natural non-toxic detergents. If you are concerned about the products that you and your family are using you can check the products safety status and hazard level on this informative website www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ The Environmental Working Group's searchable database of toxic ingredients in cosmetic and personal care products. It is a wonderfully helpful tool which you can use to look up almost any product by company or brand. We want to know what we put in our mouths to eat so we should also want to know what materials our foods are served in and what chemicals are in the soaps we bathe with...because "It is always better to be informed!"
